Network Airline Services Hosts Customer Appreciation Event in Malta

Network Airline Services Malta (MLA) was pleased to welcome 50+ guests, customers and agents to celebrate another successful year of working with its long-standing airline partner Air Malta. NAS has partnered with KM as its global Total Cargo Management (TCM) provider since 1st June 2016 and continuing throughout 2023.

The NAS MLA team hosted an evening drinks event to show their appreciation to its loyal customers, in September 2023, at the stunning Hilton Hotel in St. Julians, Malta. John Gilfeather, NAS Sales Director UK, opened the event with an introductory speech thanking everyone in attendance for their continued support over the last 12 months, as well as introducing the NAS Malta team to those present. Guests were welcomed to the party with drinks and canapes before enjoying the evening’s entertainment and networking sessions. Video clips highlighting Air Malta and NAS’ success over the years were showcased throughout the event on big screens, with the event ending around midnight.

“The event was a real success, with around 50-60 customers in attendance including local freight forwarding teams, sales managers, sales directors, various key clients plus the NAS MLA and NAS UK teams. The evening was a hit with our guests with the feedback we received was very positive. We’d like to again thank Air Malta for the trust and support they have put into Network Airline Services over the years as their TCM provider,” said John Gilfeather.

The pandemic halted customer-centric events like this, so the NAS teams were keen to reconnect with clients, both new and existing to celebrate another successful year working together. Each guest left the venue, with an Air Malta branded notepad as well as key information from both NAS and KM. For more information on when the TCM agreement began, see the article here:

Air Malta is represented by NAS as their global TCM provider including in Europe, North America and the Middle East, so be sure to contact our teams today for the latest rates, availability and to book your cargo on Air Malta. Network Aviation Group and Allied Air Cargo Celebrate 25 Years Working Together!

This year, the relationship between Allied Air Cargo and the Network Aviation Group reaches 25 years with both carriers continuing to work together, providing efficient and competitive air freight services to Nigeria and throughout Africa.

Allied Air Cargo was started in 1998 by Captain Val Tongo, a former DAS Air Cargo pilot, and has become the longest serving African all cargo airline and attained an impressive list of firsts, including:

  • First African all-cargo airline to attain IOSA Registration
  • First African all-cargo airline member of IATA
  • First all-cargo airline member of AFRAA

The company was also the first African all-cargo airline to acquire a Boeing 737-800 freighter, which also happened to be the youngest aircraft of its type to be converted into a cargo aircraft in January 2021.

As the largest all-cargo airline in West Africa, with over 20 years of service to the Nigerian air cargo industry, it is not surprising that Allied Air Cargo can count many prestigious international customers as clients, as well as providing the nation with unrivalled air cargo service. This included the deployment of the company’s aircraft to distribute vaccines during the COVID-19 crisis in a timely and effective manner.

Today, the carrier operates 4x Boeing 737 freighters from its hub in Lagos on regional and domestic operations, working with several other carriers on a block space and interline basis to serve the African continent from North America, Europe, and Asia, offering an unmatched number of connections for air cargo users in Africa.

The Network Aviation Group, formerly ANA Aviation Services was established by Andy King and Andy Leslie, both the “Andy’s” had worked for various all-cargo carriers before forming ANA and had experience working in Nigeria. In 1985 they took over the commercial management of DAS Air Cargo, an agreement that lasted 20 years and have now developed the company into a leading GSA and capacity management organisation.

In 2013 the company changed its trading name to Network Aviation Group, to represent the company’s global growth and formed separate divisions, Network Airline Services (NAS), providing GSA services plus Network Airline Management (NAM) managing cargo capacity. Today, the Group has 44 offices across the globe and represents 28 carriers at various locations.

In 1998 Allied Air set up as a West African feeder, operating for carriers out of Lagos initially using Boeing 727 freighters and together with ANA, expanded to operating its own flights from Europe with DC10 aircraft, wet-leased from Gemini Air Transport. This operation has now expanded to 5 weekly flights, serving Lagos and Port Harcourt, as well as Accra, Niamey, Libreville and Brazzaville on a regular schedule. Flights depart from Liege in Belgium and Atlanta in the USA and now utilise Boeing 747 freighters leased from Air Atlanta of Iceland.

The experience and knowledge of the ANA (Network) Group and the efficiency of the Allied team in West Africa have made Allied Air Cargo the leading all-cargo carrier into the region and increasingly, a major carrier of exports out of the area into Europe.
