We offer a variety of sales and services to client airlines, as well as managing a fleet of freighter aircraft on a network of scheduled routes and charters throughout the world.
The Role:
The General Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting monthly closing and reporting activities. This role involves handling cashbook transactions, revenue reconciliation, invoicing processes, airline reporting, and audit support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the cashbook, ensuring all receipts and payments are accurately recorded and reconciled with bank statements.
- Perform revenue reconciliation by verifying transactions, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy of reported income.
- Prepare and issue sales invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing to clients.
- Prepare and submit airline reports in compliance with company requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Preparation and submission of financial reports such as P&L, balance sheet and others on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly closing of ledgers, ensuring all transactions are recorded, reconciled, and adjusted where necessary.
- Support audit processes by responding to audit queries, providing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Experience Needed/Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent). Qualified accountant is preferred
- Previous freight forwarding or cargo airline experience
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills.
- Experience of turning data into meaningful and high quality dashboards
- Must be comfortable working in a large group environment interacting with colleagues at all levels in the UK and other countries around the world
